We had been waiting a couple of weeks for our Albariño grapes to reach their optimum ripening point, and the moment has arrived… the harvest has already begun in Bodegas GRANBAZÁN!
With 120 days from flowering to harvest, our grapes have slowly matured in optimal health conditions. This 2019, will be an early harvest and will have a moderate production.
The mild temperatures summer season allowed the grapes to build sugar without losing the acidity that gives the characteristic freshness to our Albariños wines.

Diego Ríos Winemaker in Bodegas GRANBAZÁN, emphasizes that “we had rain and low temperatures during the flowering season that had an impact on the fruit load, in turn, there was almost no rainfall at the end of the season, obtaining clusters of small and very concentrated berries.”
The relatively heterogeneous maturity has imposed a challenge when planning the sectorization of the hasrvest, due to acidity levels higher than the last 4 vintages.
However, the excellent sanitary condition of our plots has allowed us to wait for the grapes to reach a good balance.
We expect very expressive and fresh wines…it will be interesting to observe the evolution in the bottle over time. ”
Finally, we invite you to live the harvest with us visiting Bodegas GRANBAZÁN on these dates, we are just 3 kilometers from Cambados in the heart of the Rías Baixas.
